Z97 Processor Updgrade

I have Asus Z97 Deluxe motherboard and a i7 4770k processor installed in it. I would like to replace my 4770k with a better CPU with more cores. Is there any processor on Z97 that has more than 4 cores? Price doesn't matter. Need for cores for engineering application.

Nope, you're looking at X99 for more cores. The Broadwell-E chips are supposed to be coming Q1 2016, maybe you want to wait for those.

Haha. Well. I don't mind going for The 8 core version as well on x99. But now have to upgrade both my motherboard and the processor.

If you have the budget to go for an extreme edition, wait for broadwell e, the 6950x should be a 10 core cpu.

Well, the best would be the i7-5775c on Z97 :P

I think the whole community kind of forgot about "those" cpus.
