Hey Guys I need some help, I'm building a $2000 with 2 980Ti's and 4790k, i have spare ram, hdds and case to use but the psu i have is 750 watts, if i have 50 watts headroom will i be able to get good overclocks?

Most likely, unless the PSU of yours is not quality.

 

I don't think a overclock would eat 50 watts.

750W really isn't a comfortable psu for overclocking sli 980ti.

 

I wouldn't recommend anything less than 850W. (on x99 1000W, but I have thus far managed to "do it" on 850).

 

Each 980ti can draw up to 300W after overclocking and that leaves next to nothing for the rest of your parts.

It doesn't have to be, but if you don't want it to down clock then a standard aftermarket 980ti comes with a stock 275W TDP and after moving power limit up beyond it being an issue, it wouldn't be uncommon to see spikes of 115% power use.

 

I mean 300W is only 120% of the base 250W power draw, it's not like cpu's where overclocking can easily double or triple their power consumption under certain situations.
