Best test bench I have in use right now, by far is the enermax ostrog.

I'm one of those psychopaths who likes REAL WORLD testing environments, so I went out, bought three shitty cases for 20$ ea, came home and run all my test systems in them.

I keep them on their sides, with the side panel close by to slide on when i begin to run tests on thermals or acoustics. I've found it more greatly represents what people and clients will see as far as performance goes, rather than running them on the open bed benches I have. If you're really looking at an open air chassis, then my current recommendation is the pc-t80 from lian li. easy support for rads and fans, accessible, though the price can be a deterrent.

im not going to be doing benchmarks and other things just need an open air test bench for a different reason but im with you benchmarks should be done in real world enviroments

The computer club at the Vocational school I go to uses this http://www.amazon.com/dp/B009RRIP86/ref=psdc_572238_t1_B00CZ6JG8O?tag=linustechtips-20 .

However at home I just use the motherboard box, my brother has a wooden board with some anti-static material mounted to the wall. It's all about your budget.
