Hi all,

I have a question about watercooling, currently in my setup, I have just the Corsair H100i GTX, which is fine and does the job, but I want to put another MSI GTX 980ti in there. I'm also thinking about doing a custom loop.

My question is, can I use the backplate that comes with my card, I would like to be able to use this one, because it is the golden edition card and it looks quite nice in my case as it matches the colour scheme.

Thanks,

Owen

Kinda off topic: You have a 1080p monitor (according to your PCPartPicker), so what would be the point in a scond 980 Ti??

But I am not sure on if you can use the backplate with a watercooler.

You should be able to. The only downside is that you'll have to find the appropriate length screws with the proper thread instead of using the screws that come with a block and backplate. The screws are going to be a little longer than the ones that come with block, but the length of the screws used to secure the backplate should be a good starting point. A lot of blocks use M3 threads, which might be the same as your existing cooler.
