I have a friend who just built a new computer and everything is working great, aside from some of the USB devices are not working. (Webcam, keyboard) He's tried plugging them into the USB 2.0 Ports and nothing, he's using some random keyboard at  the moment that for some reason works. But does anyone know a fix for this. I've done a little digging and have found (this) thread, a guy posted that disabling the Intel xHCI in BIOS is a quick fix for this, just wondering if anyone can shed some light on this issue.

Occasionally my keyboard would "die" what I do is uninstall the drivers and reinstall them, and it would fix it.

As for the webcam, I'm not too sure :/

USB drivers installed ?? And have the keyboard and webcam got any drivers to install ??

Just generic mechanical keyboard and yes, I'm looking for more of a solution to the problem that lies within Z87 and USB issues. Not general user error.

I haven't had any issues.

I use a usb dongle for my wireless mouse and keyboard on my front USB 2.0 and use a IR receiver on the back 2.0 port.

use a rear port for my blackberry cable as well

I have had no issues yet since I bought it Aug 3.

I just updated to 1205 bios last week too.
