Your best friend for helping you build an $3000 AUD computer.

Also i see alot of problems with the current build plan you have.

What are you planning the use the PC for? If gaming, then what type of games.

@Kirky2k15 i want 2x 1tb HDD so i can run them in raid 0.

@Xenift i plan on using this rig for gaming, i mostly play RPG's skyrim, fallout series, GTA ect.

@starcoaster I'm not really a fan of AMD but i'd be willing to use an AMD card if that means i can gain more fps.

Please keep in mind i wish to upgrade this pc in the future.

@stconquest Dam that blows my build out of the water i'm more that likely going to go for that build instead

In reality, the performance of the builds is quite similar.  I opted for more SSD space, higher RAM speed, nice looking displays (IPS/60Hz), a good power supply, a better case, and a red/black theme with white/grey accents.

You picked pretty much the same parts as I did. I'm pretty new to PC-Building but i'm happy to see that a more experienced guy like you kind of agrees with my build :D

But I have one question:

The Motherboard you picked does not support SLI, wouldn't it be better for him to go with the Asus Z170 PRO GAMING ATX LGA1151 Motherboard (which supports crossfire and SLI) if he wants to have a upgradable build?

You are correct.  The PSU (HCG 620) won't support dual 980Tis either.

I only squeezed in the 980Ti because it was possible at $3000 AUS, not in an ideal way either.  If I change any part of the build purposefully, I go over $3000.

I would seriously recommend the 390X route as it allows a better all around system (can even pop in an i7 to get the boost from HT, if you render content, etc...).  If in two years you need more power for games, you just pick up another 390X (hopefully really cheap) and you game for a year or two longer.

Your build is good.  The 750W might not be enough for two 980Tis, not when that boost clock comes into play and definitely not if one is pushing a high clock.  The panels on those displays is a TN.  Personally I don't mind TNs, but that is because that is what I have.  IPS is becoming a standard for PC monitors.

Dont run them in raid 0, just get a 500gb ssd and a single 2tb hdd... hdd is for mass storage, raiding them is pointless and can corrupt your data

Thank you for the compliment :) And yes you're right the 750W might not be enough for two 980Tis.

@Aapro

I changed a few details like the PSU and the Monitors (the IPS ones stconquest picked for you). So IF you want to go for the 980Ti with the possibility of running SLI with another 980Ti in the future, it would go a little over your budget. But I thought maybe you are willing (and able) to spend a little more if you want an Nvidia Card ;)

If you want to stay in your budget I would follow the advice of stconquest and go with the 390X.

i would go with a 512 gb or 500 gb ssd for os and frequently played games and a 6tb hdd wd green for ex. for videos and stuff i would go for a 500watt psu we all wish for the dual grafics card madness but truth is you go on a new card instead of the same again.

you can optain the amd 290x relativly cheap at ebay at least in my country and play gta on max and in a year you can go for the new geforce

what you think about that memory it got a good rating at techpowerup

G.Skill Trident Z DIMM Kit 16GB, DDR4-3200, CL16-18-18-38 (F4-3200C16D-16GTZB)

one of my collegues have broght me in the world of mechanical keyboards afaik everyone needs now a "gaming" keyboard antighosting is a nice thing...

he is a big fanboy of ducky keyboards https://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=33053&cPath=257 for example

i hope that aud means australian dollar xD i just searched for a shop there maybe you like them they are in different models so you can choose that one is issnt that big of  a leap to your pricepoint

thats all from me hope i could help a bit

I plan to build the the tower you suggested, i am aware that current psu cannot run sli gtx 980Ti however in the not so distant future i plan on upgrading the motherboard, psu and adding another gtx 980Ti so i'm not worried about any of that.

Hold on, let me try and get the cost down... 1 sec.

I don't recommend this  (I will give you my reasons below), but I got the cost down while keeping the SLI-ready system:

I left out a storage drive the builds to keep the cost down.  It can be easily added later.

I recommend the second because of your decision to go with a 980Ti with the intent of adding a second one.  At 1080p, and dual 980Ti setup is sort of a waste.  That is too much power for that display.  So the second builds has a single 2560x1440 IPS display (27") running at 60Hz.  This is to take advantage of the 980Ti's power, especially when you pop in a second one.  For a second monitor, use anything you might already have or buy a cheap one later on.

Ducky keyboards are really good quality boards.  You lose a few buttons that the K70 has (like the volume roller), but you can always switch it back.  Functionally, there is no real benefit by spending more on the K70... but keyboards are a personal choice a lot of the time.

The mouse I picked has a good optical sensor, is light weight for twitch FPS gaming, and is RGB customizable.  I had a hard time finding a good red/black mouse.  This one works.

Question:  What about windows?
