I7 5960x temps high?

Water cooling setup:

Bay Reservoir/Pump combo 2x D5 pumps running in series,

2x 480 radiators & 1x 240 radiator

Water cooling: I7 5960x & 2x Titan X's in SLi

For those who have a I7 5960x overclocked what temps are you getting on a custom water cooled setup please if possible let me know the room temperature as well? The reason for asking is my temps seem high with a 4.5GHz overclock at 1.31v room temp at 25.5c (77.9f) the highest one core hit was 79c I have took off the CPU water block 3 times and have applied thermal paste 3 different ways but makes no different to the temps.

That seems alright to me. Should only start worrying at 85-90°C

Maybe a bad solder job under the IHS, that is a bit hot.

It's a hyperthreaded 8-core monster at max overclock with 450 watts of graphics card going past it. I don't care how many whacking-great radiators OP has. It's gonna get toasty one way or another.

@shadowman007, what was the lowest temp core at full load, out of curiosity?

The 5960x should not be that hot on a watercooled system & 1.31v.
