Help upgrading my PC...

Currently I have an fx-8320, an r9 280x, 8gb ram, evga b1 500w psu

I want to buy the

and overclock to 4Ghz. Will there be a noticeable difference in games? How far can i overclock to?

Unless you're using an itx case or something similar, I'd just get the 212 evo that can be had for 20 bucks. You might also want a better psu because that psu isn't that good according to the tier list (similar to a corsair cx)

Edit: And an oc to 4ghz will only yield a 14% increase, so you can expect up to 14% improvement.

Depends on the chip and motherboard, they will greatly impact your oc.

I would go for a closed loop, less noise and cooler temps. 

 

If you don't want closed loop i would go with something thicker like a D15.
