Hi,

I have my pc for a few weeks now, and i when i looked through the window of my case i saw a little dust inside. Should be normal i guess. But people say that a pc needs to be cleaned after 2-3'months or so.

Does this really need cleaning that often?

Specs:

Case:

nzxt s340

Amd sapphire nitro 390

Intel 4670 (did not buy coolers with them)

The rest is irrelevant i think. (Could be wrong ofc)

I'm a little afraid of breaking my pc, i'm so happy with it, its my first good working pc.

I never built a pc myself also not this one, but i need to do stuff inside it when i have to clean it.

I do have some experience opening a pc, and looking for things in it, and unscrewing some stuff, but that was with my laptop. As a non-techie that wants their pc to last for like 4 years minimal.

(i'm not that "rich" so i'm bery cautious with handling inside a 1000 euro system.

Thanks in advance, help and answers, will be highly appreciated, although i cant literaly reward you:\

only clean it when you notice a decrease in performance ("throttling") or very high temps (if you are uncomfortable with high temps)

You can also clean it if you have a window and think dust buildup is ugly, but otherwise , no need to open you pc and take the risk of zapping it or otherwise damaging it.

AMD Ryzen R7 1700 (3.8ghz) w/ NH-D14, EVGA RTX 2080 XC (stock), 4*4GB DDR4 3000MT/s RAM, Gigabyte AB350-Gaming-3 MB, CX750M PSU, 1.5TB SDD + 7TB HDD, Phanteks enthoo pro case

If you take necessary precautions, the fear of zapping it should go away. In highly humid areas, the risk of static electricity is greatly reduced. In less humid areas, like cities dealing with winter, the risk increases by a great deal. As long as you're careful, damage in the form of static electricity or visible damage should be a non-issue.

Of course. I agree with that.
