Best air CPU cooler?

I am building my new gaming PC and i am not sure on what CPU cooler to get, i don't know what coolers are good or not, I am hoping that someone can tell me about them!

budget?

 

i would go for a Noctua NH-D14 for most cases... can compete with AIO's out there

Yes i will be gaming and i have the asrock z97 anniversary atx mobo and for CPU i have a i5 4460 and no i wont be overclocking  

The one that came with 4460 will be fine. You dont need to buy unless you have extra $$ to burn.  ;)

This suggests that most 160mm tower coolers (such as the NH-D14) are going to be a very tight fit. While they recommend 150mm as a limit, you may get away with the Scythe Ninja 4 @ 155mm (the Noctua unit in the review above is just under 160mm).

 

Basically, you don't want to know which cooler is best, just which will fit & work well enough.  ;)

Would this fit in a Corsair Spec 01 mid tower case?

check the noctua and corsair website for the dimensions :)
