500€ monitor to pair with a 980ti

Baitlyn

Hey everyone,

Im in the market for a new monitor right arround the 500€ price range for my 980ti i am currently using a 21 inch 1080p panel so anything would be an upgrade ( well not everything but you get the point )

I do not need productivity monitors Im only going to use it for gaming for the type :    Im not sure whats best thats why Im asking for general input minimum res should be 1440p though 4k should be fine since my 980ti overclock is pretty decent (GTA V with maxed settings [anything but aa and framescaling] gets me 56 daytime and about 67 at night) Id like to hear If what you guys recommend

-> is IPS worth the price premium for gaming ?

->is 100hz+ worth over a higher res

->widescreen or one of the two above mentioned things

Thanks,

lookin forward to you guys answers

"I would however say if you’re spending more than £370 on this then get an IPS unless you’re some kind of superhuman pro gamer who 3ms response time will make a difference (not the case for 99% of people playing games which have their own input lag like BF4)." comment of the reviewer arronbraich

"The Dell U2515H (1440p) or U2414H (1080p) are usually considered the best choices." quoting glenwing

the XG270HU looks promising i should be able to spraypaint it black :^) that red is horrible but regarding that response time thing i mainly play league osu! and the average AAA stuff

i just wanted to know if ´someone was like blown away by lower response time i am using my 21 inch 1080p 5ms tn thingy since 2009 so i dont have much experience with other monitors

freesync with nvidia was basically -> same input no freensync support right?

5ms is fast enough and NVidia with freesync makes no sence.

xb270hu is what i use. 27" IPS 1440p 144hz Gsync. Cant get much better than this. Once you played a Game on this Display, you never look back. If i were you, i would spend that extra Money.
