I fund out a 7970 is basically a r9 280x so i am considering getting it to replace a 5670 in my core 2 duo e8400 pc until i give it a new home in a haswell or skylake pc (maby zen) when i make a bouild next year. Will a 520w seasonic m12ii evo be able to support a single 7970, 1 hdd, 1 dvd drive, and a motherboard / e8400 oc 3.6ghz with a few fans? I plan on putting it in there till i make a new build in witch the seasonic psu will be moved to since its only been used in the current system for about a few weeks on (6 months in there but off). So will this seasonic handle it well, and when i get a haswell or skylake mid end cpu / mobo, will that combo also work as good power wise as it with my e8400?

Thanks [emoji14]

Yes, the SeaSonic M12II will more than suffice for a fully system with one HD 7970.

I am running two HD 7970's with a nearly 5-year old Corsair TX850 (ver 1) PSU.

Considering that verion 1.X of the Corsair TX850 just barely misses 80 PLUS Bronze efficiency certification...
