Is PassMark Trustworthy?

I've been using passmark for the occasional research of gpus and cpus, and someone a while back told me it wasn't trustworthy. I sort of agree with this, because their test isn't accurate in all categories. Example; Vram makes no difference. It says that the 980ti is better then the titan x.

It can be used as a source, but look at others as well. One of my pet peves is that the software cannot tell the difference between a 390x and a 290x.

Different memory and bios.

 

I'm more surprised it can't, even kombustor knows the difference.

I'm guessing it just looks at the core
