how to fix CPU Fan Error

Go to solution Solved by runit3,

On all ASUS boards you need to disable CPU fan monitoring. The "monitoring" heading should be available from the BIOS home screen. Click it, then hit the toggle menu next to CPU fan monitoring and choose disable. There may be some variation on this, it could be available in the Q-fan section as well. (I'm not home ATM)

i have an Asus X99-A USB 3.1 motherboard and i am running a watercooled i7-5820K..

since it is watercooled there is no CPU fan and now everytime i launch my PC it appears with 'CPU Fan Error' and then directs me to the BIOS..

is it possible to remove this error so i can launch my PC without being directed to the BIOS all the time?

You can let the motherboard control fan speed. With my ASUS mobo I have silent fan profile, standard and....dunno somehting aggressive. You can also disable that warning altogether in the same menu. Doesn't mean it shuts off the power to that fan hub, it will just not warn you anymore.

Go into bios, there is an option in there, I forget where, that will disable the check on the cpu fan during post. I'd give you more detailed instructions if I was at home.

Should be called cpu fan warning
