old monitors and heat

DominicNikon
Go to solution Solved by W-L,

i have a old 5+ year old monitor that seems to be hotter then my led monitor. is heat bad for monitors like it is cpus and gpus?

Not really especially if they use CCFL backlighting they can get warmer than the more common LED backlight ones, not to mention them being less efficient as nowadays.

It is normal. Heat will dry out the cheaper capacitors though. It is normal. I would debezel it if you are concerned, it helps with heat as the metal chassis is exposed to the air instead of encased in plastic. Guide in signature.
