Need help picking out a Dedicated Server.

Hey guys, I am saving up money to purchase or rent a dedicated game-server off of Fallout-Hosting. It's primarily a minecraft hosting company, and their second BUDGET dedicated server has an i5-750... Is that good for a game-server?

how long do you want to rent the system?

 

if you calculate the total rental cost

 

do you think it economical to buy your own server?

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

1) as long as possible, christmas is coming up soon. So I will have alot of money then.

2) Well I don't know how to manage my own servers from home, plus with paying for ddos protection on top of that, I think it is worth it. But since I am quite new at this, I am unsure. You guys obviously know more.

we do have a few experts on server hosting that you can ask in the forum

 

while i am not verse in DDOS attacks

 

IP masking should reduce the chance of hacker getting info of your server IP address or your network

 

might need to fiddle around your router setting
