i was wondering what processor to get i do a some games but  good amount of video editing being a cinema major in college and also am planing on using the rig in the field so i want it to last. i started this rig a few months ago and am regretting the choose on my processor for these task (because of cost at the time) a fx 8320. i want to upgrade to a i7 but do not know which to get should i go with one that fits on an lga 1150 so i can use my 32 gig ram of a lga 2011 for the same reasons or just spend the money and go up to one on an lga2011v3 and buy ram from there

thanks

do you think that it would be benifical to go with a 6 core 12 thread processor even though they are more expansive or will i see a difference in times at all

It'll be the best for the time being since you already have RAM.  I feel like technology grows too fast to "future-proof" your build.

That's my 2c

would i see a diffence between this Xeon E3-1231v3 vs. a 4790k

The 4790k is better, and even better if you're comfortable with overclocking and the extra price.

I recommend the Xeon because it's a nice piece for the price IMO

since i am using this for income in the near future i can justify spending that 100 more to get it
