Do not to sound stupid or a pleb,

But I'm working at a dentist at the moment and I helped a guy run the network cables to a surver and telephone cables,

I got showed how to wire cat 5 to a rj45 and some basic stuff

But I want to learn how to do that kind of stuff and set up servers and networking

But in not sure what kind of college corse I should look for or what it would be called

If anyone knows the definition of this job or what the corse would be listed as that would be amazing

I think you're looking for a Server Admin/Engineer/Technician sort of thing? CompTIA's Net + is a good place to start. That's what I'm currently doing now. It's a certification. I'd recommend doing CompTIA's A+ first though. A+ is more computer hardware and Windows, while Net + is more advanced networking.

That's all you need to know. It's a beast.

college courses will be called Computer Networking or something like that, it will have Networking in the title. (CISCO is arguably the biggest player in Networking currently, most courses will offer the ability to get CCNA certification). As for a Job it could be many things. Network technician is probably the one you are looking for.
