yes. dvi->vga adapter works fine

I'm running this 6870. I am currently using the HDMI connection to connect to my monitor (which I do not like, it keeps falling off  :(). I have a couple really old monitors in my house but they all use VGA. So my question is can I use a DVI to VGA adapter or something and run a secondary/dual monitor set up?
