You don't need an i7 for gaming, an i5 is fine. You could even go skylake and get a Z170 board and DDR4 RAM. Also, unless you don't need Nvidia's features and such get an R9 390. Please use http://pcpartpicker.com/ to make parts lists. Oh btw welcome to the forums :D Please remember to follow your own threads.

What budget what country? What parts do you already have?

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

Sorry for the lack of info, I am building a whole new pc in the UK and my budget is no more than £815.

It includes 1440p IPS display, there's also the option of a free-sync 1080p 144hz display

You'll want a 390 over a 970 due to 125% more VRAM, bit more performance especially at higher resolutions, and potentially better DX12 support

an i7 is also unnecessary for gaming, especially an unlocked one, a Xeon 1231v3 is a better option in that regard
