can a STRIX R9390 crossfire?

JitaJosh

Will a STRIX-R9390-DC3OC-8GD5-GAMING  Card crossfire?

I want to add another card down the line if i want to upgrade to 4k.

Also how large of a power supply would i need for 2?Would a 1000w cover it?

That would go to Gigabyte's. Worse than reference.

What he said- don't get a STRIX. Get either an XFX, Sapphire, MSI, or Powercolor. Those are better coolers. I would say Sapphire's are the best, then MSI, XFX and Powercolor are on the same level.

I used to be quite active here.

why is it so bad? I kinda just ordered one solely on looks as the 390's will all perform with a few fps within each other and the temps/noise seemed acceptable

CPU: INTEL Core i7 4790k @ 4.7Ghz - Cooling: NZXT Kraken X61 - Mobo: Gigabyte Z97X SLI - RAM: 16GB G.Skill Ares 2400mhz - GPU: AMD Sapphire Nitro R9 Fury 4G - Case: Phanteks P350X - PSU: EVGA 750GQ - Storage: WD Black 1TB - Fans: 2x Noctua NF-P14s (Push) / 2x Corsair AF140 (Pull) / 3x Corsair AF120 (Exhaust) - Keyboard: Corsair K70 Cherry MX Red - Mouse: Razer Deathadder Chroma

Bit of an AMD fan I suppose. I don't bias my replies to anything however, I just prefer AMD and their products. Buy whatever the H*CK you want.

It's a thermal pad with a heatsink on it, how is it 'not done right' lol?

It's even making full contact, you can see all the indentations..

Look at that metal plate. Does that look like its transferring heat to the heatsink? To me it just looks like a piece of metal bolted onto the heatsink

Strix 390s are probably the worst of the 390s.

If I were you, I'd so Sapphire Tri-X/Nitro for pure performance or MSI GAMING G1 for software and customer support for a 390.

Also what PSU?

EVGA by a LOOOONGshot.

It's pretty much one of the best quality PSUs ever made, barring server PSUs from the likes of Delta

Just coming through to clear the misconception. Asus strix/dc2 has vrm cooling. The same type as you will find in msi and saphirre cards. It's the vram heatsink that they're lacking. Do not get confused.

i5 2400 | ASUS RTX 4090 TUF OC | Seasonic 1200W Prime Gold | WD Green 120gb | WD Blue 1tb | some ram | a random case

800w is enough but I can't think of any good 800w PSUs so we go 850w g2/GS/xtr pro/seasonic g
