trading cards get a whole pack and..craft them into badges or some crap like that is the way you always have to do it (im vague on the details of that since I sell every trading card I get) sale events sometimes have special ways to get a badge

In your steam client, hower your mouse to your name( Top Middle ), there you will see "Badges" click that, it will take you to the Badge Section. There you will see the game that drops card for you if you play it. Game only drop few cards not all. After you get all your cards by simply playing. buy the remaining ones from Steam market its cheap. once all cards completed for specific game. Go to your Badge section again it will show you "CRAFT" option. Craft it you will gain steam level and few discount Coupons/Backgrounds/Emoticons.

Here is the website if you want to buy set of cards for leveling, it shows the price and direct link to steam market.

Buy cards, make badges, amount of games owned, years of service, Steam Sales "events", etc..

Essentially, a giant waste of time and money for absolutely no reward other than your own feeling of self accomplishment and superiority by having a higher level than X.

Some games are easier to get the badges, as some only require like, 5 cards to get the badge. Others, like Starbound, require 15. You only get 3 of them by playing so you have to buy the rest.

Games like Portal 2 and Goat Sim are fun ways to get trading cards, but borderlands 2 is another fun one where you have a chance of getting a foil card. The extras you get can be sold in the steam market and the you can use the profit to buy other trading cards in the set. You get steam emoticons or profile backgrounds for completing a badge, and these can be sold to buy more cards.

its nice to get a few levels, you can display more stuff on your profile, and you can add more people to you friends list as well.

so i totally understand maybe getting 20-30 levels. but the guy who hit 600 is a little excessive..

The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again.
