Budget - 2500 USD

I plan to use my desktop as a media center as well as gaming. More specifically, I would like the ability to run almost any game on 4K (Single Monitor) at 60fps. I also plan to run Flight Simulator X (planning on switching to Prepar3d v3 soon) with a lot of add-ons (graphics enhancement packages for terrain, and all of the PMDG aircraft).

I have been using an old Alienware M15x for most of my gaming and aside from my growing hatred for Dell and, by extension, Alienware, I feel that it is time to get a desktop since my laptop can't handle the performance requirements of higher end games. I also feel that without getting a monster of a laptop (which then becomes a portable desktop) 4K at 60 is only obtainable with a desktop.

I definitely love the look of the Enthoo Pro case, and have a list of parts selected as examples in the link below. I am sure you will be able to tell what two brands I am a fan of based on the parts that I picked, but I have heard good things about MSI and Corsair, so I figured that I would try to stick to those brands where possible. If anyone has any OBJECTIVE reason that another brand is better, then I would love to hear it, but I will not listen to SUBJECTIVE favoritism. Thank you.

Please suggest any changes that you would make and why. I would like to know if there is any bottling issues with the build I listed, as well as if I am wasting my money on certain parts that there are equivalent or better alternatives for less. Thank you once again!

EDIT: I have since purchased an ASUS Q550LF for my basic computing and media needs. The Alienware is going away once the desktop is built.

You don't need a 5930k, the only advantage over the 5820k is more pci lanes which you aren't making use of.

I would get this SSD instead: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/samsung-internal-hard-drive-mz75e1t0bam b/c it's cheaper than the Corsair one and Samsung is pretty trustworthy when it comes to SSDs.

Also, is there any reason for the $50 blu-ray player?

Pro Tip: don't use flash when taking pictures of your build; use a longer exposure instead. Prop up your camera with something (preferably a tripod) if necessary.

if you use retarded/autistic/etc to mean stupid please gtfo

I've heard that the price/performance of the Seahawk isn't all that great. You're better off going for either a MSi (who do make fantastic cards) or EVGA (fantastic customer service from what I've heard, performance on par or above MSi cards)

So basically, if you want to keep the build around the idea that you put together, it should look like this:

Thanks for the tip. I know that FSX makes heavy use of the CPU so I wasn't sure if I needed the 3.5Ghz over the 3.0Ghz, or is it possible to boost the 5820k up to the same clock speed?

I have blu-ray movies that I would likely watch on my computer from time to time, and didn't want to have to worry about getting an external drive. As far as the $50 aspect, I just picked one, I didn't really pay much attention to the price since I was more focused on the other parts at the time. When it comes time to buy, I will likely buy the cheapest Blu-Ray player I can find (as long as it isn't put together with duct tape lol).

The software that you run won't take advantage of the cores from the 5930K. Just get a 6700K instead and 16GB of RAM and use the money you saved to put 2 980 Tis in SLI.

Why not something like this? I kept Windows 10 in, but grab it for cheaper at Reddit software swap. This is a black and blue theme that can be changed by swapping out the ram and motherboard.

This is what you want to look at. You might be able to do a bit better than the EVGA Supernova at that price, but otherwise this looks fantastic.
