I bought a pre made PC (Medion Erazer x5374 D) few years ago,, and im uppgrading it when i have some money, my last upgrade was a 980 strix and now i want to upgrade other things, but i noticed that my socket is an LGA 1155 and i dont know if its worth it to upgrade the motherboard with a z97 and go SLI or change my CPU and motherboard to another shoket, because maybe in a near future i want to upgrade the CPU and the only CPU i saw better than mine in the lga 1155 socket is the 3770K

it could be, or couldnt be

depends if you need it. will you need sli? will you need more CPU power? will you need more horsepower?

what do you use the computer most of the times? 

try do a comparison with the other CPU and see if you find any improvments by changing CPU

I think i have enough CPU power by now, but i dont know in the near future xD

Talking about Gpu Power, well im happy with my 980, but also in the future (far future i hope) the games will be more demanding,, and i think i can use the 980 i alrready own with another new one on SLI (What my motherboard doesnt support) and play that future games (or play the present ones on 4k or 1440p xD)

I normally use the pc only for gaming, 4 - 6 hours per day

 

The motherboard is a bit sketchy, but fine and the CPU shouldn't be replaced.

When the motherboard fails, replace the CPU too.

The cost of 2 Gen old mobos is lots, and if it ain't broke don't fix it!

im planning to buy some of the parts i will need, but i dont know if i should change all the motherboard and de CPU to another socket or just buy another motherboard.

I will buy the psu, a new case and the 980 when i start on my new job (i hope by january or december)
