So I finally got SSD just for games (850 EVO 500GB).

I knew that SSD will help to reduce stuttering in games like Arma 3 or DayZ due to how game loads assets with such huge view distance but I never imagined it will be such a big difference.

When I had Arma 3 on HDD I had my CPU clocked to 4.5GHz and when I played King of the Hill 100 player server and I was in city it was pain.. I felt like having 20FPS even though I had well over 30FPS.

Now I have it on SSD and I removed my OC so I am at 3.9GHz and the game is smoooooth. I have absolutely no problems aiming when under heavy fire and explosions which was pretty much impossible before.

So if you guys play Arma 3 and you are considering to get SSD for it then I must say it is very much needed for this game (DayZ too most likely but I don't own that game).

Even with an SSD, ARMA runs like shit, due to the game engine.

Shot through the heart and you're to blame, 30fps and i'll pirate your game - Bon Jovi

Take me down to the console city where the games are blurry and the frames are thirty - Guns N' Roses

Arguing with religious people is like explaining to your mother that online games can't be paused...

I have absolutely no problems now but I also have quite powerful CPU which most people don't have so I must agree with you. Most people will have problems to maintain playable frames still...

SSD definitely helps though.

Would the 250gb fit my OS/ Windows 7, Steam, Fallout 4, Arma 3, and Malwarebytes?

Arma 3 has a section of code at the end of every frame for asset loading (https://www.reddit.com/r/arma/comments/303xr4/understanding_arma_3_performance_problems/ for details) and if you use a HDD that takes considerably longer to finish, it can definitely impact on frame rate. It doesn't usually impact the average all that much, but it certainly impacts the stability of the frame rate and world assets when moving fast (like in a helicopter) can pop in. Its one of the few games where an SSD actually makes a big difference to the quality of gameplay.

But its also a really badly written game generally, everyone gets poor frame rates and its because its mostly single threaded.
