Car or PC first?

I'm 17 and I've been wanting to build a computer for a few months now. But as I save up the money, I also have the option of buying a car for a little bit more. So which do you guys think would be the better first buy, since I'll get the other one in 6ish months when I've saved up enough again?

Car will consume more extra money to maintain than pc

Keep in mind of all the upkeep that a car requires. Where as a computer is close to maintenance free.

 

But with that said, a car grants you a massive amount of freedom, but at a cost.

any car under 5 grand is going to be a money pit but make the choice that would benefit you most

Pfff, just buy an old Volvo 940 Sedan and buy a pc with the rest of the cash. Don't know how good quality they are in USA, but in Sweden you can get a nice volvo 740/940 that is legal for about $500

$1500 for the PC, $2000 for the car

 

I would honestly almost go for the PC first. Just fewer added cost after the purchase.

 

Cars are money pits no matter how you slice it. If you spend $2,000 buying a car, then you will keep spending money on gas, insurance, tax, maintenance, etc. Example. over the past three months I have spent over $750 in fuel alone.

Really it depends on what you need more, not what people on the internet think you need more or something. Do you need a car? Or are these choices for luxuries? Because if it's the latter, then a PC would be better in terms of the upkeep cost. But if you need a car, get a car.

We have similar acquaintances it seems. She paints my fishing rod a couple of times a year, I swear acid rain is horrific.
