Fan control software

Go to solution Solved by Wats,

I wouldn't bother installing Link.

Go with the second option. As long as you have some way to control the fans with mobo or with fan speed reducers, it'll be fine.

Wait... stop that lol.. go for a 240 or at least an air cooler. single rads... pfft. (go for whatever you want, I'm just trying to voice my opinion..)

So i'm planning on buying a MSI GD65 motherboard and it includes MSI command center software which allows you to control your fans, but from what i've read online, it doesn't allow you to control an H80i.

To control it i'll have to download Corsair Link but this software controls other fans too.

So might Corsair Link and MSI Command Center conflict controlling the fans?

thanks

Simple enough, connect the fans to the mobo. H80i is sata powered, so that is covered.

EDIT wait wait... Don't buy a single rad cooler... Go for an air cooler, cheaper with practically the same results.

I read H80i is powered by USB

I prefer going for liquid cooling for a look matter. And i'm still not sure about getting H80i or H100i , it depends on my budget in next month.

So you suggest to wire the fans to the motherboard and control them with MSI? but then how do i control pump speed?

So i have two ways to do that:

H80i wired to motherboard via USB and then fans connected to the H80 block

OR

H80i wired to SATA and fans connected on the motherboard

Am i right?

It would use 3 PWM connectors right? 1 for the pump and two for the fans

I'll go with the second option. By the way as i told you it depends on my money if i'll get a h80i or an h100i, they're both good cpu coolers, they don't take as much space as an air cooler and they perform about the same.

Some people go for looks and an H80i looks much better then an air cooler.

I totally understand that, looks are a huge deal to a lot of us.

I shouldn't of made the big deal over the tiny rad... It was kind of off topic..

I appreciate the hint, you made me think about it, but i think that for my particular scenario, an H80i is better, thanks for your help anyway, how do i set it solved?
