Ok first off I appologies if this post already existes.

I want to start recording some of my gameplay but I am not sure what soffware there is to do this. I have a R9 290oc.I know "Geforce Eperiance" has this feture but I know longer have a GTX card. What is the best software for this that is not only free but uses next to nothing in regards to performance?

I know the "Whats best" question is quite often subjective but what dose everyone use?

Oh and can we post links to please. And sorry for any spelling mistakes

Best one is OBS, just overall. AMD DVR exists, but last time I checked it was quite buggy.

This. @zane1214

After installing OBS, you need to set it to record to file instead of streaming to twitch or what-have-you. IIRC it records to .mp4

For my pertinent links to guides, reviews, and anything similar, go here, and look under the spoiler labeled such. A brief history of Unix and it's relation to OS X by Builder.

AMD DVR is such a pain in the ass to use, i recommend never using it

Best Free one is OBS

Best paid one is Dxtory (IMO)

And in some cases FRAPS but not many use it anymore

Thanks guys. How easy is OBS to use? Just wondering

Little bit of a learning curve, but once you get past that, it's easy to use. I love using it and I spend like half an hour exploring the ins and outs of it.

From my experience, OBS is a pain in the ass to setup the first time but once you get it configured correctly it's easy to use every time you want to record.

I have tried multiple screen recording programs and I settled on the VSDC Free Screen Recorder, it is by far the best free screen recorder I have ever used.

Got an Android, never going back to apple again (notice I spelled apple with a lowercase and Android with an uppercase)
