Hi All,

I want to buy a gaming pc and I have a few questions on which one is better and what the difference is between some different computers. I'm wondering how different these are in terms of performance, quality, and reliability. What are the main differences? I will be using it for everyday use and gaming.

Well he probably hasn't had time to read one of the build threads with a cx psu.

He has 3 posts.... he registered yesterday.

Both build looks neat. I personally live Corsair and Asus components. If I had to choose between the two, I'd pick option one though I'll probably drop the sound card(you can grab a better one later down the road) and pick up a closed loop cpu cooler instead. You can't go wrong with either.

Three posts is nothing, dude.

The first three posts I made were Linus memes. That means literally nothing.

Okay. But he registered yesterday. I mean, he did have a chance. But most people would choose it.

But yeah, here's my laundry list of advice.

If you're overclocking, get the 6700K.

If you aren't, ditch the cooler. The stock cooler is sufficient. Also, change to a H170 board or something along those lines.

Consider a cheaper SSD, like a Samsung 850 EVO. Intel drives are great and reliable, but so are Samsung's, and their cheaper to boot.

I'm biased against the Seagate Barracuda, admittedly, but I had mine fail after little over a year, sooo......I may be salty, but I'd personally go WD Blue. You don't have to though.

Consider an R9 390 instead of the 970, unless you intend to use NVIDIA-specific features.

Change the goddamn PSU. That's a builder PSU for a reason - it's intended for simpler systems, not gaming rigs that cost as much as that. The CX line is not ideal for your build. One of EVGA's units will be better, or if you have to go Corsair, go with the RM line.

A friendly word of advice - do as much research as you can on the right PSU for your build. It is THE most important part of the entire computer. If that part fails, it can take parts of your system with it. It's the one part that does not go down quietly. It can kill your motherboard, your graphics card...it can take anything with it.

Which is why I said what I said.

The 6600 and 6700 have coolers. The K variants don't.

Why buy an air cooler if you can just use the one that's already in the box if you don't intend to do overclocking? It's a waste of money.

I would defenately get the second one ! Also don't buy a cx power supply ... It's safer to go with something like an evga supernova g2 !

I'd switch out that cooler for something like a Seidon 120XL from CoolerMaster if you're not looking for something INCREDIBLE. And the i7-4790k can be swapped out with a i5-6600k for less money and get about the same performance. Go with a Radeon R9 390X if you want to get something about that price.
