I currently own an ASUS GTX 970 STRIX OC Edition. The seller for me was the fanless mode, but I do now have few questions.
I'm thinking about trading it and some cash for MSI GTX 980TI, but that would mean no STRIX mode for me. It's particularly useful for me since I love leaving my PC on for days or overnight. Would you say it's quiet or should I just try to search for ASUS GTX 980TI STRIX?

2, my current powersupply is 550W Gold, which is obviously not enough, since it's min reuiremments are 600W Which power supply should I get?, I have Asus Essence STX II card, which connects with a Molex adapter, i7-4790k, 2 HDDs, 1 DVD bay and 1 SSD. What kind of wattage I'm looking for?

3. Kinda irrelevant, but do you think that GTX 970 and i7-4790k can run Just CAuse 3 on ultra 1080p 60fps?

no idea what to put here

All 900 series cards have a 0 fan speed mode.

You just may need to enable it manually.

The Gaming version (Red) of MSI's 980 Ti has a fanless mode.

ZERO FROZR

Smart cooling, stay quiet.
MSI’s Twin Frozr V Thermal Designs are equipped with ZeroFrozr technology which was first introduced by MSI back in 2008. ZeroFrozr technology eliminates fan noise in low-load situations by stopping the fans when they are not needed. Compared to other graphics cards, there is no continuous hum of airflow to tell you there’s a powerful graphics card in your gaming rig. This means you can focus on gaming without the distraction of other sounds coming from your PC.

Strix are the WORST card models - cheap VRMS, insufficient cooling and power phases (3+1 on a 970? REALLY? EVERY other 970 has at LEAST 6+2 or more)

This is why you shouldn't waste your time asking here.

Top to bottom: Asus Strix 970, MSI 970 Gaming 4G, Gigabyte G1 Gaming 970, EVGA 970 SC ACX

That's 6 phase, 6 phase, 6 phase, 5 phase.

Do any of these look like 6+2 or 3+1 to you?

Also the 980 Ti Strix uses the PCB from Asus top of the line Matrix, which is why it overclocks well (check the HWBot site). They're worth getting, but don't pay over the odds for them, I see plenty of retailers markup their prices.

i personnaly think that the strix cards suck for anything but low power cards like a 950.

They are not very capable , especially for high end cards like a 980 ti or amd cards.

AMD Ryzen R7 1700 (3.8ghz) w/ NH-D14, EVGA RTX 2080 XC (stock), 4*4GB DDR4 3000MT/s RAM, Gigabyte AB350-Gaming-3 MB, CX750M PSU, 1.5TB SDD + 7TB HDD, Phanteks enthoo pro case

I personally think people post factually incorrect information and base their opinions on that.

Oh wait they DO post misinformation that is otherwise(correctly) available from free and reputable sources.

The Strix 980 Ti model is as good as any other model out their barring the extreme priced variants (Kingpin etc). The only point of note is the fan curve is set to silent by default.

As @Atmos said, you can enable a fanless operation on all of the second-gen Maxwell cards. The Titan X doesn't run fanless as standard, and it cannot be set to fanless through MSI afterburner. A little BIOS tweak took 10 minutes and I haven't looked back, it's now super quiet.

inb4, "YOU CAN'T DO THAT ON THE REFERENCE TITAN X !!!11!ONE!", I swapped out the cooler for the EVGA ACX 2.0.
