  1. Ah, you mean Active Directory? It becomes a bit limited, when you try to manage passwords for multiple different applications on Windows, and none of them use Windows Active Directory.
  2. Yeah, sadly what I'm tasked with is running on Windows. I will also take a look at LDAP.
  3. Oh, in that case I mean Application. Sorry, about that. But seems like I am talking about the Solution Architech. I'm currently not interested in hardware as much as in the software, and how it is being deployed.
  4. Ok, this Chef seems interesting. Let's say that in this case there is a company that specializes in a software that they have. And they deploy their software on Windows server. How would they usually deploy and configure these project specific settings, like passwords, IPs etc? Is there some sort of automation for that too?
  5. Well, maybe the web store was a poor example. How about an offline SCADA server? Is there any literature regarding that? They must've made some sort of a routine out of their work, and not simply building the system from the ground up each time they receive an order?
  6. Yeah, that much I know. I'm looking for the appliance vendor's perspective. How are they implementing their appliance onto the server? Do they tailor their software for each customer? Do they just slap on the same VM on every server? How about project specifics?
  7. Well, in simple terms yes. But I'm looking for some literature on the topic. For example, if a web shop needs a server, they most likely need some sort of operating environment. So I'm wondering how are they tailored for different customers.
  8. Hi! I'm looking to find documents, researches, companies, whatever regarding server deployments. More specifically, if a customer orders a server, for example for a web store. I'd like to read on how the process goes. If anyone could point me toward the direction, I would be thankful.
  9. Got it, thanks. I'll try to snag them up, if they're still for sale tomorrow.
  10. Should I go for: Kingston FURY Beast DDR4 3000 MHz CL15 32 GB or Kingston FURY Renegade DDR4 3600 MHz CL16 32 GB One can populate all 4 slots, but the other one is higher MHz. I'm very unlikely to add more ram in the long run, and more likely to just upgrade in few years.
  11. Any ideas how I should go on trying to figure out which cable goes to where? And what do you think the USB carries? Because from my understanding, the touch is carried out in the VGA. In which case I would *only* have to figure out the VGA cables and power, which should be a tad easier.
  12. Hi, so I have a slightly faulty panel (issues with backlight) that'd be fun to mess with, but the issue is that it only has a 44 pin output. It was previously connected to an industrial PC via that connector. However, none of my home PCs have any sort of serial ports. Does anyone have ideas how I could connect this to a PC? Spending ~40 USD + taxes for a new control board doesn't seem wise. In the second picture the white cables should be probably touch inputs, black one should be video, and grey one should be power.
  13. I'm in the same boat but just with i7-4790k, I'm personally waiting for Ryzen 4xxx
