Hello,

I was planning on upgrading my graphics card from my GTX 670 GIGABYTE 2GB to a graphics card with 4GB. I am not 100% familliar how to choose a graphics card (speeds and threads and that) But I know about size and that. (Bit more advanced than basics). There is no set budget just looking what I could plan to get. I am planning on gaming upcoming titles, mainly Rainbow Six Siege. Although it is recommended GTX 670, I was to have something more beefy for other upcoming games.

Thanks,

MrKat

Hey! Welcome to the forums. While the 670 may be the recommended for that game, it's a bit dated since the requirements were written a long time ago. The 670 is outdated and a GTX 960 would be more than fine for your needs. What are the components currently in your computer? It's important to make sure your processor as well as your graphics card can handle the games you want to play. Example of a good GTX 960: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-video-card-04gp41962kr

Nude Fist 1: i5-4590-ASRock h97 Anniversary-16gb Samsung 1333mhz-MSI GTX 970-Corsair 300r-Seagate HDD(s)-EVGA SuperNOVA 750b2

Name comes from anagramed sticker for "TUF Inside" (A sticker that came with my original ASUS motherboard)

if you're looking for a good upgrade , get an r9 380 (budget) or an r9 390/gtx 970

Welcome to the forums, always follow your topics so that you get notifications on suggestions.

Depending on your budget and region a 380, 380x, or 390 is your best option. They offer much better bang for the buck in comparison to the Nvidia counterparts. That is region dependent though.

If anyone asks you never saw me.

Also could I get some UK links preferably? I do not really want to pay those extra international charges..

Also I am more of a GeForce fan, never used AMD.

I'm sorry, could you please tell what's the price of gtx 670 4gb in UK because I can't find it and then maybe I could help you

get a R9 380X or R9 380

these are way better then anything Nvidia has to offer at an equal price point.

As I said I do not have a set budget so I am open to those high end graphics cards. I want to future proof.

And I want to live as long as possible, see the connection? I could die at any second and your graphics card could become obsolete at any release for any game. Welcome to the hobby.

If you're at all serious, get a 390. Both Sapphire and MSI make great examples of the card. It has the VRAM and power to stay relevant as long as possible. It's also the sweet spot for price to performance.

If anyone asks you never saw me.

If I were to get the R9 390, Will my RM650 PSU power it?

Monitors are highly subjective. I like a IPS screen but some don't like them for the slower response time. Acer makes a great IPS screen and you can pick up a 25" for under 150us right now.

It doesn't list the screen so I have to assume it's a TN panel. That's a cheaper panel to build than a IPS and sacrifices color quality for speed. So yes, it will work. But it won't look as nice as something with a IPS panel.

If anyone asks you never saw me.

If I were to get IPS, will it be any good for gaming? Also how much slower are they?

On average an IPS panel is slower, but mine is 4ms and has never been an issue.

Better. Anything under 5ms in response time is going to be fine. I personally have never had an issue. Though I can't speak for the quality of that particular panel as I've only used Acer.

If anyone asks you never saw me.
