I would like to start this off that im not sure if this is the right section for this post. But it has to do with cooling and air to some degree so i decided that this was the best section.

Ok so this cooling question has no basis in cooling a computer but rather phones. I have a a group of phones that i have playing videos basically 24/7. I wanted these phones to be as out of sight as possible and the best position for that was at the foot of my bed. So currently they are sitting on the carpet and while there they get somewhat hot. I bring this up because i have even had a phone that has had the battery bloat to a unusable point and i would believe that is mainly due to the constant heat.

To continue to keep the phone hidden where they currently are (since i have tried other areas and any other place was way less preferable) i came up with a idea to use aluminium sheet to sit on the ground under the phone's to cool them. I wanted to ask if this plan would work or not? I had these sheet's in mind: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EGNRVS6?keywords=aluminum%20sheet&qid=1447650564&ref_=sr_1_15&sr=8-15 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00YW5DYKC?keywords=aluminum%20sheet%2048in&qid=1446693939&ref_=sr_1_1&sr=8-1

The main difference between these two sheets and my line of reasoning was the thickness and if that would add any cooling capabilities.

Your usage of the phones sounds odd, but they are your phones so I don't care.

Heat is indeed very bad for the batteries. If they have removeable batteries take them out. They need allways to be plugged into the charger anyway.

As for the aluminium sheet, this may work as long as the phnes lay flat on the sheet and no camera is preventing a full touch. Even a 0.5mm gab will lower the heat transfer by >80%. Also the thikness oly help with heat transport, to get rid of it you need surface area.

Have you thougth a smal stand for the phones so that it stands uprigth and front and back can dissipiate heat into the sourrounding air?

I am using Moto G's and LG Motions. The moto g dosent have a removable battery, the motion's do have a removable battery but they cant run without a battery.

I considered a stand but how the phones are setup there are multiple rows and it makes the phones difficult to interact with when i need to do so.

Put the phones on sturdy mesh and lift the mesh up from the ground ~5 cm. If they sill get to hot, plase fans on the side until all rows of phones get some airflow.
