Metal.

Plug your power supply in, don't worry about turning it on or anything, and touch it every so often to ground yourself.

Hey there guys! So I want to know what materials would I have to touch when I start building my pc. Also what would be the best for me to touch and when?

Some general rules are don't build on or near any carpet, try to build on something that doesn't build up static charge like a hardwood floor or tile. In order to rid of any built up static charge you can just touch the outside of your case. If you would like to be really safe you can by an ESD strap which would ensure that you won't have any static charge built up when putting your PC together, goodluck!

Don't wear anything made from wool and stand on carpet. Touch PSU that is connected to wall outlet but not turned on or anything else metallic thats connected to outlet. You only need to be careful when installing CPU. Rest of the parts are more or less safer to install. Another good tip to be safe, hold components from edges of PCB or by plastic parts.
