Real quick, Hi! I am new to the forum. I have been all over the forum just never joined it, now I have.

I have not built a computer for myself, I have for others, in a long time. I have been out of the game and figured it was time to change that.
When looking at this, PLEASE BE BRUTALY HONEST. In this build, money is not really an issue for I have been saving for a long time. However, that does not mean I plan to put things in it that are not really needed or will be used.
The purpose of this rig is for some hardcore gaming with little cad use. I want to oc the cpu to around 4 or 4.5ghz and I plan on having 2 gpus when the time has come and I will need it. I am use to building showy flashy machines but not this time. The goal is to have a long lasting, 5 years, hardcore gaming, yet silent, rig. I will be putting windows 7 on this.

Use the link above to view the parts. If not:

CPU: I5-4670k

CPU Cooler: Kraken x60

Mobo: Asus Maximus VI Hero

Ram: Corsair Vengeance 8gb, 2x4, dd3 1600

SSD: Intel 520 series cherryville 240gb

GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 780 (will sli in the future)

HDD: Seagate Barracude 1TB

Case: Fractal Design Define R4 black

PSU: SeaSonic 850W

Case fans: Cougar Vortex PWM 140mm

The cougar fans will replace all the fans in the r4 case because I figured it would help with cooling and perhaps noise. Every fan slot shall be filled with 140mm fans! The x60 does stir some trouble. Through my research I found that many were commenting that the radiator will not fit, with fans, on the top of the case and they were mounting it on the front by use of a small mod. However, nzxt.com says it is compatable with no mod. I would like some thoughts on this please.

really nice balanced build I would go with a samsung 840 evo instead of an intel 520 though you could maybe drop the power supply to 750w even with SLI in the future

Change the SSD to an 840 Evo and the X60 with an H100i, the PSU to 650W and if you care about silence don't fill the R4 with fans.

He wants to SLI in the future though and what's wrong with the x60 its better than a h100i ? also dammit you beat me to it on the ssd

I would recommend getting an 8350 instead of an i5, mainly because they're very close in performance currently, with the i5 just edging ahead. However in the future, 8 cores will become better optimised, especially since all the next gen console will be using 8 core processors. Just my opinion though.

He said people couldn't fit it in the R4 and anyways the H100i will be able to handle a 4670K at 4.5GHZ.

completely missed that I always thought it fit in just fine

I forgot to mention that point. I was a little curious if I was defeating the whole purpose of a silent case with just adding more fans.

I have done some research that showed people had some trouble, however nzxt says the x60 will fit in the r4. I was hoping someone who has an x60 and a r4 would look at this post and by my hero.

It fits in the front but you have to remove the fan mount things and mount the door down. This may or may not be a bad thing depending on how you look at it.

What resolution are you gaming at? Unless it's 1440p, triple 1080p, or something along those lines, I wouldn't recommend getting a 780. The 780 is not a good value and a single 770/7970 already maxes out almost everything at 1080p.

If you ever need help with a build, read the following before posting: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/3061-build-plan-thread-recommendations-please-read-before-posting/

I saw some videos about mounting the x60 to the front. I would be willing to do that, but is that a good idea to clog up the front with just a cpu cooler?

I should have mentioned this before, good point.

This build will be a progression type thing. I will start with 1 monitor, then i will end at 3 with triple 1080p or more.
