So ive been a long time hardware enthusiast, and im starting to worry ive made some bad choices along the way, heres my current system spec:

Case: NZXT H440

PSU: Corsair rm850

Cooler: Corsair h110

Fans: 2xCorsair SP140 White LED + 4x Corsair SP120 (white band)

MOBO: Asus Z97-AR

CPU: 4790k@stock

RAM: Avexir core white 8gb(2x4) @ 2133MHz RAM Speed, CAS 11-11-11-31 Timings, 1.60-1.65v

GPU: EVGA GTX980 4gb SC ACX

Storage: 1tb seagate hdd (no clue on spec)
500gb back up drive (again no clue on other spec as i 'inherited it')
120gb kingston hyper X ssd (firstgen)

Peripherals are a WIP but currently use the razer deathstalker ultimate (want a k95 so bad) -  a razer naga epic (switching for a g600 soon) some 27" samsung LED tv/monitor thing connected by HDMI.

ill edit the post with screenshots regarding temps when im home but generally around 35c idle and 65c load on cpu and my gpu is about 40c idle and 67c load.

Im curious to know if anyone can help me out with suggestions to improve this set up, im part tempted to upgrade to 2011-v3 as i now use my pc to play around with VM'S , but i no real rush.

I just want my current set up to be as powerful as it can be.

That's a pretty powerful setup already. if you wanna upgrade you can upgrade to 6700 with DDR4. Or go all out and go 6950x.

GPU-wise: Can always upgrade to 980ti (maybe SLI)
