So, over the past few months, I've been researching parts and making a list of components for a PC I'd like to build. I never really want to have to upgrade this build for a few years.. but still have future compatability if I need to get more expansion cards. So, like a PCIe SSD or something, maybe another GPU someday.  I want to make it the best it can be, so I don't really have a max budget... but I'd prefer if it where kept under $5,000 USD (I'm in the US). I want to use this computer for high-performance gaming, video editing, and typical school work. I will want a few extra cores to use with these RAID arrays I was gifted. Right now, I'm thinking 6 cores, while the PC is still affordable. I will be using a HP Smart Array P800 card for these arrays(only thing compatable). I want to go with Intel processors, and I've checked the Skylake series, but until the new lauches, dont have what I'm looking for. I really plan to use this as my all-in-one PC, that does everything from nightly backups, to high end gaming and processing. The Monitor.. well yes, its expensive, but I like ultrawides and want that 100hz for gaming purposes.

My current part List consists of:

Case CoolerMaster Mastercase Pro 5 Mid-Tower $159.53

Motherboard ASUS X99-DELUXE/U3.1 $399.99

Cpu Intel® Core™ i7-5930K Processor tray $577.86

Cpu Cooler Cooler Master Nepton 240M Liquid CPU Cooler $110.31

Memory Dominator® Platinum Series 32GB (4 x 8GB) DDR4 $299.99

Gpu Gigabyte GeForce GV-N98TG1 980Ti $669.99

Boot Drive Samsung 950 Pro $348.27

Storage Drive Western Digital Red Hard Disk Drive $64.99

RAID Controller HP Smart Array P800 $33.99

Power Supply Corsair Professional Series 860 Watt $199.99

Monitor Acer Predator x34 Ultrawide $1,251.99

Monitor Cables Gold Plated DisplayPort to DisplayPort Cable $9.99

Keyboard Corsair Gaming K70 RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard $167.54

Mouse MIONIX NAOS 8200 Multi-Color Laser Mouse $64.99

Operating System Windows 10 Professional  $199.99

TOTAL:  $4,559.41

I just want some advice on this build, and if it is worth going all-out on it. I am knowledgeable about technology, so I know what to look for, and I think I have a pretty good list. I DO plan on building this PC sometime within the next few months, so if there is something new that I should wait and look into, please let me know. Just looking for some advice and help, to make it better, or lower the cost even. Thanks!

I think you're overspending on the chip and motherboard and ram. an X99-A, 5820K, and almost any other stick of ram (HyperX Furys for example) should be much cheaper and cost little, if any, performance. the 5830K only becomes useful if you have like 3 or 4 nVidia GPUs. the deluxe is straight up overkill, and the Dominators are far to overpriced fro what they are.

Your build is very good. The GTX 1000 series is most likely coming out before the first half of 2016, and Broadwell-E is on the way too.

I really can't tell anything bad about that build, you even hitted my dream keyboard and same mouse (I have the Naos 7000). Maybe, Intel have probably the most durable SSDs, you could get a better PSU, but that's probably just details.
