Recommended processor

Go to solution Solved by Sir Asvald,

Hello,

Does anyone have any recommendations for a good processor.

I am looking for an i5 under £200 (pref) that is good for gaming and quick for intensive tasks.

I currently have an i5-3330 which runs games fine but is a bit slow for CPU intensive tasks.

Thanks  :)

James

dont upgrade from that, unless you want to seriously overclock it is not worth doing.

Well, with an i7, GTX 1080, Full tower and flashy lights, it can obviously only be for one thing:

Solitaire.

I got a i5 4690k for £180, not using it yet so can't say, but it's meant to be really good for gaming and it's unlocked for OC.

Right so I've seen two good processors.

See the poll attached.

I've never used a Xeon in a workstation what do you think? Xeon or i5

you know you would need a new motherboard for those 2 processors?

Yes but I'm planning to buy a new motherboard anyway so this doesn't really bother me.

There is barely any point in upgarding to the i5 4690k and although the xeon is better for CPU intensive tasks but in games it won't be an upgrade.

Al-right, thanks.
