I'm going to use Intel for this build and not AMD. What do you guys think of this? I figured it I'm going to get a full ATX case that I might as well get an ATX board.

get a h87 or h97 board. z series are for intel cpus ending with "k" meaning overclockable.

You have a locked CPU, just get a cheap H97 motherboard

 

and you probably have too much RAM, as why would you get 16gbs of RAM for an i5?

Drop both of those and upgrade to like a Xeon 1231v3

get MSI H97 PCMate and 8GB 2x4GB 1600MHz, 1866MHz will do the same as 1600MHz

it means Unlocked, and non-K will work with Z97
