What Suits Me Best?

JohnnyIsHere

EDIT: I Am choosing between the GTX 960 & R9 380 -http://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-GTX-960-vs-AMD-R9-380/3165vs3482

Which one would be better? and i came across http://pricespy.co.nz/product.php?j=3088214,2982801 the same GTX 960 Card but one has 2GB and one has 4gb's now i can get it $70 cheaper but will i lose much from the 2 gb's. i play games like cs:go,dayz, sleeping dogs, gta 4 etc.

Heyy so i have recently decided to get a i5-6600 CPU ($330NZD) And i was wondering

How much should i be looking to spend on my gpu (So it works well with the CPU / So i Din't get that bottle necking stuff)

Is the gpu more important than the cpu?

(As i am willing to move up to a i5-6660 if my gpu is cheap enough)

Yeah so please hit me up with some possible ideas of gpu's, keeping in mind i just want to play my everyday games like csgo, dayz, sleepping dogs,tf2, gta 4 and shiz on high settings :D

Yeah cooool : D Thanks Johnnyy

My Resolutions are 1600 x 900 and 1440 x 900.. If that means anything IDK :o But yeah i have 1 monitor at my mums and the other at my dads.( Not 2 monitors at once)

Just get a 270x or something similar, unless you plan on upgrading your monitor.

Honestly if that's you budget, get a new monitor and go from there.

An i5 is plenty for most things, and if you're gaming at 1080p then you can easily live with a 970, 390, or 780Ti.

What are the good gpu's out there?

imma stay out of it cause I only look at Nvidia cause ive bought into nvidias ecosystem, and I dont like the 900 series (vram issues on the sweet spot gfx card) which while might be okay in practice I refuse to support them for it. and I duno AMDs offering well...

I say that I just give my gf 2 builds with AMD cards...the r9 380 and r9 390 are good...390 is considerably better.

1500 NZ... hmm, i don't think i'd necessarily recommend the 6600K.

A 6500 and R9 390 would be the best CPU & GPU combo for that price range.

waitaminute the 6500 is ~$330, the 6600 is ~$370

Yeah i think i narrowed it down i'm looking at the GTX 970 & R9 390 which are about $600NZD out of a budget of $1,500. Do u think that is over doing it on my budget..?

The thing with the monitors is it would be quite annoying to have to buy 2 of them... 1 for each house..Like do u think i would see a noticeable improvement if i bought in a 1080p monitor with this stuff.

Yea from the Nvidia i am looking at the GTX 970, Do u know by any chance if there are any cheaper ones from Nvidia that will be nearly just as good as the 970.

Yes, the pixels are almost twice as dense. If you're going to stick with those monitors, save your money and get a card like a 950, or 370x.

Is the $1,500 for the whole build?

Honestly, I have no idea. I don't know what NZ pricing is like.

No its the GTX960, and the GTX970, they are 2 entirely different tier of cards the 970 only has 3.5gb of usable vram and ya I refuse to recommend that card on principal for their fuck up on it and the fact its still advertised as 4gb which while technically true not all of it is usable.

Oh there's a sizable difference (going from a 260X to 970 on a 900p monitor)

and technically the more power you have the longer it will take before you technically need to upgrade your GPU.

Ermmm...no...not quite. Especially with the pixels he's pushing.

For example I can run a lot of titles on my ultrabook, which only has an HD4000, and more pixels at 1600x900.

1400x900 is so low that the 950 will easily plow through it with 60 fps for quite some time to come.

IIRC you can get tearing from having too many fps above your monitors refresh rate.

Heyy thanks a ton! saved a lot of money from cutting down on the gpu and since the 960 was like the R9 380 http://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-GTX-960-vs-AMD-R9-380/3165vs3482 Went with that.. How much do u think i would get in games like TF2 & CS:GO With the R9 380 and i5 6000. Like what is this screen tearing thing?
