New psu or 6 pin gpu?

Go to solution Solved by Jacktastic-Mofo,

Depends on the brand and model PSU you have already, a great cheap PSU is actually the EVGA 500B- I believe it's only 40$ or something like that and is 80+ Bronze and has everything you'd need.

So I have a 500W psu and it only has a 6pin connector for gpus cause it's an old master cooler psu, should I buy a new one? (I don't know how to check it's lifespan if you tell me how to check that would be great) or buy a 6pin gpu like strix 960 2gb? I know that I can use the Molex adapter to connect a 8 pin connector but I don't know if that's safe. Thanks for any advice you could give.
