First Build ever help

jetstarkiller

Hello everyone! I am new to the forum and to gaming computer. I have never been a computer guy just because my xbox was doing the job ok and it still does. I finally can afford a pretty high end computer and have a budget of $2500 to $3000ish including a screen and a nice keyboard, no OS. I have been trying a bunch of config on pcpartpicker but I am never sure or satisfied. I would prefer a titan x hybrid so I won't have to update my computer for a while. But I am more than open to something else. Also should I go with liquid cooling?

Thank you in advance!

980ti has better price/performance than a Titan X.  Air cooling should be fine for now.  I don't suggest going with a custom loop on your first build anyways.

This is better, but would recommend you go with a liquid cooler (Closed loop, such as a X61 kraken liquid cooler)

An AIO is actually a huge pain in the ass.  My pump started running at full speed last night and it hasn't stopped.  I am going crazy right now.  The Dark ROck Pro 3 is on par with any AIO anyways.  I think I'm gonna get one to replace my x61.

I don't usually get to have a field day with builds but when I do, I love it. I went with the Haswell Refresh because it's cheaper and performance in gaming isn't that different. I also went with a dual GTX 980ti G1 Gaming setup cause why not, accompanied by a 1440p monitor, and a K70 RGB and a M65 RGB. A baller build indeed.

Thanks for the supra fast answer. I have a few questions. Does the EVGA 980 Ti hybrid worth the extra $50? Since I can squeeze more money should I go for a Titan or is it just not worth the extra money (and I know it is not the best perf for the money)? Why 2 SSD? If I go with this motherboard can I do 2 or 3 way SLI in the future? and what about skylake motherboards? a lot more limited choices...

Sorry for all these question it is just a new territory for me lol

I like it lol. Don't think I need a Titan Z so that would be $500 off

Here is the thing, and stop me if I am wrong. Most games do fine with 2 way SLI. a lot of them are ok with 3 way SLI. If I go for a Skylake I can only do 2 way SLI with the current motherboard on the market, right? If so, I think that 1 titan X and buying another one in the future would be better than buying 2 980Ti.

Would it be better with an i7 5820k? it is $320 for me at a local store.

If you can get a 5820k, a motherboard and RAM for about the same price as I have for the CPU, MOBO, and RAM listed above then totally. Also unless you're doing heavy media creation it's not that necessarily as a regular 4C/8T i7 will be enough for most purposes.

I would honestly pay a little more for the Acer XB270HU bprz.  It's ips, 144hz, AND Gsync.

2 980 Ti are stronger than a Titan X, but both will eat up 4K gaming just fine. Getting another Titan X in the future would definitely surpass 2 980 Ti. And by that time, a Skylake refresh should have come out so you could do 4-way Titan X. ;)

If you don't want the Titan Z, I'll edit the build since I went cheap on some other parts to fit it. :P

That's looks cool. I am gonna try to squeeze the Acer XB270HU bprz and I don't need a mouse. I changed it on my list and saved it. I am going keep looking and will order parts next week or two weeks max if everything goes right. I will definitely keep you guys updated on what will be my final list before I order anything. It should be an awesome build! Can't wait!!

May i ask why you want a 1440p monitor instead of a 4K monitor?
