Hello,So I've been considering mining , and i was wondering what is the most profitable cryptocurrency ( altcoins ).

It has to run well on a 290x and be fairly asic resistant and be viable ( not cost more to run than it produces).

So far i've been looking at dogecoins and ripple , as they are both accepted by newegg and many other online sites through snapcard .

What would be the ideal crytpocurrency to start with ?

Also it would be nice if someone would point me to a tutorial on how to start mining ?

I'm a noob when it comes to mining , so please use words i can understand .

well i already know that mining bitcoin with anything else than asic units is not viable , so i was looking into something asic resistant .

It does seem that dogecoins are though .

Vertcoin. It is very asic resistant, and just a while ago switched algorithms to ensure it. It has a decent exchange rate with BTC and LTC.

Idk man, sorry. I used to use guiminer, but now it won't work cause of the new algorithm. You're just going to have to figure out how to use the command line of the miner.

I'm sure there are wikis and videos, you just have to look for them.
