Right now I'm on the market looking for a laptop for both school and for gaming. As of right now I have my desktop which has not been very useful for my needs at college as it takes up so much room in my dorm with two other roommates. My laptop (Lenovo y580) is aging quite a bit, and can hardly play games besides CSGO and League of Legends, and Fallout 4 runs at about 20 frames average on it so no go. I'm also looking for a laptop with a really good display and great sound. The price limit is about $2000 but I'm willing to go over the price point by $100-200 as well. So here are my needs:

  • A laptop that I can use for both school and for gaming.
  • Gaming is important and portability is not an issue, I'm a pretty big guy so I can lug around heavy thingslike
  • Display is the most important thing about the laptop I'm looking for. So something 15.6" - anything.
  • Audio is another important factor but I can just get a Seinheiser or Sony headphone and get a microphone.
  • Price point is $2000 with a overflow of $100-200.

Thank you very much in advance.

would say a retina macbook but the fact that you want to game ruins that idea.

Maybe go for a Eurocom M5 pro or a Sager.  Really great performance in a reasonably small package.

My friend has GS60 and he likes it although the only downside to it is that it only has a gtx 960 or 860. Although Im not a fan of that RGB bullshit if it makes the PC cost more.

Looking into this or the Sager both interesting laptops that I've actually never heard of before besides the normal ASUS, MSI, Alienware, Lenovo, Dell HP laptop manufactures.

Pick a brand. Both machines are practically the same. The Eurocom Sky MX5 is the refreshed version of the M5 Pro with Skylake CPUs and G-Sync capability.
