evga precision x 16 issue

i have an issue where evga precision x16's kboost feature will not work. or at least not entirely. the top card in my 980 ti sli setup will go full boost speed when kboost is enabled, just as it should. but the bottom card just sits at base speed, even though kboost is enabled on both cards. i want to get my cards overclocked to do some testing, but i can't do that because the 2nd card in the system is not boosting up. is there a (easy) way to fix this?

MSI Afterburner can sync the clockspeeds of both GPUs.

but can it put them to max boost speed at the click of a button like precision x?

You can set OC profiles that you can just click and apply.

did that. set them to 1525mhz (max stable speed of bottom card), but they aren't going full boost speed, which is not what i'm looking for.

Link the two cards together. Click the little chain link at the bottom right beside the names of both cards. 

 

That'll sync them both and should also lock k boost in for them both.
