Why do videos recorded on my Note 4 look compressed when I import them into After Effects?

Whenever I record a video on my Galaxy Note 4, it looks compressed as all hell after I import it to my computer. This happens no matter what resolution I record in. Is there any way to make it look better? I get that phone cameras are far from being the highest-quality, but there has to be some way to reduce the graininess of the shot.

Your preview quality is probably at 1/2, you can turn it up to original in the window.

I know the ins and outs of After Effects better than the back of my hand(just check my YouTube channel for proof). Even when I have the preview set to Full, the videos are super grainy.
