Hi everyone, I am new to building/buying computers, but I do have some basic knowledge of picking parts. I'm wondering if this build will make a good-great computer for gaming. I don't need extreme performance or even overclocking, but I would like to be able to run graphically intensive games like Crysis 3 with around 40 FPS on medium settings. This build is from a website called Digital Storm, and they have pre-made computers that you can choose from. Anywhere it says "No Thanks" is just an option not included. I have a limited budget too. Here's the build:

I'm also wondering how this computer will compare to my current laptop which isn't anything special. I'm not sure if this is enough information to compare the new build to my current laptop, but here are my extremely basic laptop specs:

I know this isn't much information, but it's about all I could find.

Thanks in advance for your help and support.

good parts but i would suggest doing it yourself, you will get more for your money. Use that same parts list or something close on amazon or whatever

It's alright, Build your own and save money though. You'll be able to get some better components and make some smarter choices with components.

Also for anything less than a 4670k on the intel side of things, You would really be insance not to go the 8350 or 8320 :)

What do you mean by 8350 or 8320?

AMD's 8 core FX CPU's.

Once OC'd they will keep up with a 4670k, yet alone a 4570 non k, and they cost abit less for both the CPU and a decent motherboard :)

I'm not a big fan of overclocking because

1. I don't know how

2. I don't want to damage my system or push it too far if that is possible

If you have a look at

that will teach you most of the basics.

If you do alittle reading up and research on the topic it will be well worth your time and give you a noticable performance bump.

And if you don't push your voltage too high you won't be able to damage anything :)

I'll have to watch this video later on when I have more time, but as far as the computer I mentioned, is it a good deal for the money?

Overall it's not bad, I'ld still make a few changes, For example if your using a non k processor you shouldn't get a Z87 board as you won't be able to OC that CPU. Get a H87 instead and save a few dollars.

If you build your own you'll also save a little bit of cash that you could then use to get better components. Warranty won't be an issue either as each component comes with it's own warranty anyway :D

I don't know how to build a computer though, and I'm sure I'd mess something up.

It's decent, but you could get a much more powerful system for even less if you build it yourself. Believe me, I've been in your position before, and while it may seem quite daunting to build your own PC, it's much easier than you think. It's just like putting together a set of Lego's.

There's tutorials all over the internet mate :) Think of it like lego with electrical components. It's super hard to do anything wrong if you take your time :)

I also don't know which parts are compatible, and I would hate to order parts and not have them work.

Overclocking has gotten a lot easier. Linus has several guides up on youtube.

I'll have to watch this video later on when I have more time, but as far as the computer I mentioned, is it a good deal for the money?

Compared to one you build yourself, not really.

It's better to just set your money on fire than to get a 9370. It's basically an overpriced pre overclocked 8350. Both are terrible builds for the money.

I also don't know which parts are compatible, and I would hate to order parts and not have them work.

As woodenmarker has said, use www.pcpartpicker.com and then click where it says "system build" and you start choosing components and it will only show you components that are compatible with each other, what you can do is try to put together a build like the first one you posted with the same components or at least as close as you can get and you will see that it will be less money
