Cpu keeps overheating

Go to solution Solved by daniellearmouth,

It's a nzxt h440 one back exhaust fan, 3 intakes on top and 3 in front also intake.

The cooler annoyed me a bit but is completely in as it should, I didn't see any pins that where off they looked perfect

Too many intakes. Turn the top intakes to exhaust.

Hey I have a maximus vii formula and a i7 4770k cpu, everything stock 3.5 Ghz and auto on everything in bios, it's overheating no matter what I play even league of legends, at the moment I'm on a shock cooler, I'm buying a corsair h110i just need to get past Christmas I have tried to reapply coolant

What should I do ?

check your thermal paste. If it is dried out that is the problem

Go into your BIOS, disable boost.  Or from AI Tweaker, disable from there as well.

check your thermal paste. If it is dried out that is the problem

Considering it's a 3770k which isn't even that old, it shouldn't be dried up.

I have reapplied the coolant 2 days ago, I hoped that was the problem, but unfortunately that didn't help much

You're on a stock cooler? Hmm......that shouldn't be happening; Intel's stock coolers are generally really good.

How are the fans arranged in your case?

Whats overheating?

I had a similar setup (3770) or a while and it did get very toasty, but didnt throttle.

My cpu it's getting in 90+ makes a bluesceen and boots at 87°C until it settles at 39 until I use it again

Wow, damn, that's overheating alright.

I had mind peaking at 90 when in extended use, wouldnt be the room temp being exceedingly hot, i would guess since you re in Dk?

Bleigh!  Ever hear of AC series?

The room is around 20°C at the moment, so that shouldn't be it

But I'll try to make a little more exhaust
