750Ti into a Dell Inspiron 660?

Essemm

So my friend has a Dell Inspiron 660 with an i5-3330 and a Nvidia GT620.

Obviously the GPU can't do much so I was wondering if a 750Ti would work?

The end goal is to take the cannibalise the CPU/RAM/HDD for a new build but we need a temporary solution.

The 750Ti is this one: http://www.johnsmith.co.uk/product/EXER-PNYGF750IGTX2GEPB/pny-nvidia-gtx-750ti-pci-e-graphics-card which is free for him from University entitlement money (we get £300 a year to spend at the University book shop).

I guess the main question is if the PSU is up to the job. it's marked as 300W total but I'm guessing that's in an ideal situation and doesn't tell the whole story. I don't know much about all the different rails etc

Get a different PSU. That Lite-On PSU is just asking to start a campfire.

The problem is the mounting for the PSU appears to be non-standard. I'll try and get a picture.

It's our on campus book shop. I only show it because of the yearly allowance we get. It's not exactly good prices.

edit: Only the 960 is available. There is no 380 gpus.

Actually, looking at the PSU mount it's got the standard screw layout. So we could work with that.

Get a better second hand card for cheaper like a 770

I agree, look at something used seeing that is still a very capable CPU for ~$200 you can get a better card.
