But how come a can max games like Borderlands 2 and Portal 2.

If you're maxing out Borderlands 2 on an iGPU, then I am very concerned, considering I can't even really max it out and get consistent frame rates on an 850M.

Thanks in advance!

Well, if you don't care too much for AAA graphical fidelity, you can pick up some older games. I would Recommend The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, and IV: Oblivion- two games that are, in my opinion, far ahead of Skyrim (oh, you can probably play that on medium settings with SweetFX and still have it look great).

Grab Fallout 3 if you can- from what I know, it should be playable at medium-high settings at 720p, low-medium at 1080.

Another great game that hasn't lost any of its charm or even its quality with age is Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. This is a bonus if you're a Star Wars fan, as it's easily the best entry in the saga in any medium. In the same pool, there's Star Wars: Battlefront II and the Jedi Knight games, which are a ton of fun and aren't too hard on the eyes either, although they're vastly inferior to Knights of the Old Republic.

Also, just to get the most out of these games, go into the laptop's BIOS, and bump up the amount of RAM the onboard graphics can use. Granted, this isn't possible on many models, but it's worth a shot.

You could also check out Dragon Age: Origins, the Portal titles, the original BioShock, probably even BioShock infinite at lower detail.

Many of these games might be classified as somewhat 'retro', but trust me, many of these look a lot like they were just recently released.

Furthermore, give Crysis 1 a shot. Even at the low-medium settings, it looks great and makes for an excellent gameplay experience. On that note, there's also Far Cry 1 and 2, which should run fine on there.

i5 12600KF | Zotac RTX 4080 Gaming trinity | Team Vulcan 2x16GB DDR4 3600 | ASRock Z690M-ITX/ac | WD Black SN850x 2TB

Cooler Master NR200P v2 | ID Cooling Zoomflow 280 XT | SeaSonic Focus SGX-750 | Thermalright 2x140mm + 2x120mm aRGB

LG C2 OLED 48" 120hz | Epomaker TH80 (Gateron Yellow) | Logitech MX Master 3 | Koss Porta Pro Comm
